Tony Csavas (1968–2014). He was a prolific painter, sketcher, and adjunct professor at the College of Charleston. Csavas was highly influential in the Charleston, South Carolina, art community.
Csavas held a BFA from UC Santa Cruz and an MFA in painting from Boston University. Known for his sensitive and nuanced approach to painting and drawing, his works vividly captured the people, architecture, and atmosphere of the areas he lived in. He is heavily remembered for his inspiring mentorship of students, as well as his recurring series of paintings titled "Flowers for Karen," dedicated to his longtime partner, artist Karen Ann Myers.
